Troop 850 has been selected to run the Dessert Table at the St Ignatius Fish Fry on February 28th. This is our first Troop Fundraiser in nearly a year, so all families are expected to provide desserts to feed at least 24 people. Desserts can be brought to the Troop meeting Tuesday, or, preferably, to the Boeckermann house later in the week or to the Loyola Center after 4:00 on Friday.
Scouts will be needed to work on Friday. Shifts are 4:30-6:30 and 6:30-8:30 and there will be a sign-up sheet at the Tuesday meeting. Contact Susi Boeckermann (203-6238) if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your help.
Below are 3 documents with details on Merit Badge Challenge (MBC) to be held February 1st, 15th, and 29th. Read the Troop 850 Letter first. I would like to receive all registration requests for review by November 19th. Registration opens on November 12th, so the sooner you choose your classes, the better chance of getting your first choices.
We will register together as a Troop, so please follow the instructions in the Troop 850 Letter, and do not mail in your registration.

Troop 850 will be attending Summer Camp July 8-14 at Camp Davy Crockett located northeast of Knoxville, TN. The cost including transportation costs is $300 per Scout and $50 per Adult. Payments should be made to Troop 850 and the first payment of $100 ($50 for adults) is due February 13th with the balance due by May 8th.
Adult participation is critical for us to have a successful summer camp experience for the Scouts. By only charging $50 for adults, the Troop will pick up the majority of the costs in order to encourage adults to attend.
All Scouts and Adults are required to complete a Medical form signed by a medical professional. A link to this form is provided below.
Also provided is a link to the 2018 Leaders Guide for Camp Davy Crockett which contains lots of detail about Summer Camp. Information about merit badges begins on page 11 and the schedule for Merit Badge classes can be found on the last page on the “Scout Registration Worksheet”. Pages 22-23 have some details on programs for older Scouts. Please note any age restrictions and extra fees charged for certain merit badges and programs.
The merit badge classes are scheduled between 9:00 – 12:00 and 2:00 – 5:00. Scouts should have a schedule with no more than 1 free period during those times and include at least 1 Eagle required merit badge. More information on Merit Badges can be found at www.meritbadge.org .
We will register for Camp and for merit badge classes as a Troop, so all you need to do when you submit your deposit is to complete the Worksheet and indicate your merit badge selections (including at least 3 alternates) and your choices will be reviewed by an Adult leader.
Contact me or any adult leader if you have any questions.

Hello,
My name is Alexander Richardson. I am currently working on my Eagle Scout Project and am in need of donations of money and materials to complete the project.
My project is refurbishing and landscaping a picnic area located at the school at St. Joseph Orphanage in Cincinnati. As you may know, St. Joseph Orphanage provides a large number of services for youth in our area including education. The school currently is in need of creating an outdoor picnic space for the students. This will be a clean , safe space for students to eat, relax and meet with parents and case workers.
What I currently need is enough funds and materials to purchase the following:
Service Berry tree Ground Cover plants
Bench Stepping Stones
Top Soil Mulch
The approximate cost of the project is $624.
You can help students at St. Joseph Orphanage have a clean, safe and beautiful area to hang out with friends, meet with parents and case workers and just have a moment of relaxation. No donation is too small or too large.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and assistance.
Donations made in the form of a check should be made out to the beneficiary, St. Joseph Orphanage. Checks can be mailed to:
