Child Protection Training

Attention all Scout Leaders.  The Archdiocese has adopted a new training program for all adults working with our youth.  Every leader and adult volunteer must attend a mandatory training session.  The Boy Scouts have organized a training session for Tuesday December 11, 2012.  There is no troop activity for this particular Tuesday so what better opportunity than to join your fellow scout leaders for this important training!

To register for this session please go to www.virtus.org.  Click on “registration” on the left side of the screen and using the pull-down menu select “Cincinnati, OH (Archdiocese).  You will be asked to create your own personal ID and password.  Once you complete that you will be asked to select the primary location for work/volunteer/worship and you can select St. Ignatius Loyola (Cincinnati).

You will have some other questions to go through and then you can select St. Ignatius, Tuesday Dec 11 as your training session.

If you have questions please contact Alex Mechley at 513-379-5826.

Please plan to join us on December 11th to complete this important training.

Pancake Breakfast Sunday Oct 28th

Call the neighbors, wake the kids and be sure to join us on Sunday Oct 28th for our annual All You Can Eat Pancake breakfast from 7-Noon in the cafeteria at St. Ignatius.

Scouts and parents – we have mandatory setup on Saturday evening approximately 5:30 (immediately following the 4:30 Mass)  Everyone must attend to help transform the cafeteria for our breakfast feast!  With everyone’s help we’ll wrap up very quickly.

We’re still looking for gift certificates and donations for the basket raffle – always a highlight of our fundraisers please ask your friends and employers if they would be willing to make a donation for this important fundraiser.

Please contact Chip Branscum at 513-623-4941 if there are any questions.  See you next Saturday!

2012 Pancake Flyer

Raffle at Court of Honor

Great News!  We have (4) VIP tickets for Entertrainment Junction that we will be raffling off at Tuesday’s Court of Honor.  Donations from this raffle will supplement our recent Pancake Breakfast fundraising event.

These tickets are valued at $108 and include admission to the world’s largest (25,000 sf) indoor train display, the fun house, VIP backstage tours and audio tour as well.  These would make a great family outing gift for Christmas!

We’ll sell raffle tickets on Tuesday and you’ll take the tickets home with you that night.

Pancake Ticket – pickup tuesday 10/4 between 7-8PM

Reminder – Tuesday 10/4 is a committee meeting from 7 – 8 PM in the cafeteria – all parents are encouraged to attend.

Pancake tickets were distributed last week but several packets have not been picked up – scouts should stop by the cafeteria Tuesday evening between 7-8 PM and pick up their tickets.  A large portion of pre-sale tickets go directly to the scout’s account to help pay for/offset activities.  This is a great way to help the troop and for the scouts to save for the high-adventure trips!

Pancake Breadfast Fundraiser

Our pancake breakfast will be Sunday morning Oct 30th.  This and the spaghetti dinner are the two fundraising events Troop 850 hosts to raise money to support the troops many activities.  Thanks to Kelly Reupert’s leadership the basket raffle at these events continute to be large portion of the proceeds!

I would like to ask everyone to consider asking your employer for a donation to support this upcoming fundraiser.  Kelly is a master at crafting unique baskets – whether it’s cash, gift cards, merchandise donations or sporting event tickets she always creates the perfect basket for any occassion.  We will have donor recognition posters displayed recognizing and thanking all donors.

Another option to consider is cashing in any “reward” points you may have on a frequently used credit card.  Gift cards for local stores, restaurants, and other rewards would be most welcome.

Upon request all donors will receive a letter recognizing the donation for tax purposes if they so desire.

Please contact Chip Branscum at cbranscum@fuse.net or Kelly Reupert at kaykaytenten@yahoo.com if you have questions or would like additional information.  Early donations are most appreciated to give more time for Kelly’s creativity in creating baskets.

Thanks in advance for your support!

Hi-Adventure

OK – for inquiring minds…Bahamas are located approximately 76 degrees W latitude and 24 degrees, 15′ North longitude.  Current conditions are 2-4′ seas with a nice high pressure system keeping weather most pleasant.  Our first night upon arrival we have a new moon so it should be pretty dark out.  Highs in the mid to upper 80’s and lows in the upper 70’s.

Summer Camp Powhatan Photos

OK – I have 400+ photos from summer camp on a DVD – I can’t upload them to the website as there are too many.  I will have a few discs at the next scout meeting for scouts to take home, copy, download, and share.  If you would for-sure like your own disc please email Chip Branscum and I’ll trade you a disc for a dollar.
